1.2 These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all services and products provided by 3D Laser Monkey.

1.3 By placing an order with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1.4 These Terms comply with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA). Where these Terms conflict with your rights under the CPA, your statutory rights will take precedence.

2. Definitions

2.1 “Company”, “We”, “Us”, “Our” refers to 3D Laser Monkey, registered in South Africa.

2.2 “Customer”, “You”, “Your” refers to any individual or business using our services or purchasing our products.

2.3 “Services” includes 3D printing, laser engraving, 3D modelling, 3D scanning, and equipment repair.

3. How to Place an Order

3.1 We don’t have an online store – all orders are handled personally. Here’s how it works:

  • Get in touch with us via Email or WhatsApp with your project details
  • One of our team members will get back to you to discuss your requirements and provide a quote
  • Once you’re happy with the quote, you’ll make payment via EFT (bank transfer)
  • As soon as payment reflects in our account, we’ll start on your order and ship it once complete

3.2 Please provide clear design files, your specific requirements, and your preferred materials when enquiring.

4. Our Services

4.1 3D Printing and Laser Engraving

We offer custom 3D printing and laser engraving based on your designs, or we can help with design consultation. Pricing depends on material usage, complexity, time, and design requirements. You’re responsible for making sure you have the rights to any designs you send us.

4.2 3D Modelling and Scanning

We provide professional 3D modelling and scanning services. Any original designs we create remain our intellectual property unless we agree otherwise in writing. For commissioned work, we’ll sort out IP ownership separately.

4.3 Equipment Repairs

We repair 3D printers and laser engraving machines. Here’s what you need to know:

  • There’s a diagnostic fee for the initial assessment
  • Replacement parts are charged separately
  • Repair work comes with a 90-day warranty

5. Pricing and Payment

5.1 All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT.

5.2 Payment is made via EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) to our bank account. We’ll provide you with the banking details when you place your order.

5.3 For custom projects, we require a 50% deposit upfront. The remaining 50% is due before shipping.

5.4 For repairs, full payment is required before we release your equipment back to you.

6. Design and File Requirements

6.1 We accept the following file formats:

  • 3D Printing: .STL, .OBJ, .STEP, .IGES
  • Laser Engraving: .AI, .SVG, .DXF, .EPS
  • Other formats? Just ask – we may be able to work with them

6.2 Please make sure your files are print-ready. If something isn’t technically feasible, we’ll let you know and see if we can find a solution.

7. Turnaround Times

7.1 We’ll give you an estimated completion time when we quote, but please note these are estimates – complex projects may take longer.

7.2 Most orders take 3–7 working days. Larger projects (like life-size prints) can take up to 3 months.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 By sending us a design, you confirm you have the rights to use it. We won’t be held responsible for any copyright issues with designs you provide.

8.2 Designs created by our team remain our intellectual property unless we agree otherwise in writing.

9. Warranty and Liability

9.1 3D Printed Products

  • 14-day warranty against manufacturing defects
  • No warranty for damage caused by misuse or accidents after delivery

9.2 Laser Engraving

  • Warranty covers material and craftsmanship only
  • Design-related issues aren’t covered

9.3 Equipment Repairs

  • 90-day warranty on repair work and any replaced parts
  • Once the equipment is handed back to you in working condition, we’re not liable for any issues that occur afterwards

9.4 Your Rights Under the Consumer Protection Act

In addition to our warranties above, the CPA gives you the right to return faulty goods within 6 months of purchase if they have a manufacturing defect. If this happens, you can choose to have the item repaired, replaced, or receive a refund. This applies to defects that existed at the time of purchase – not damage caused by misuse, wear and tear, or accidents after delivery.

9.5 Important: Once your order has been delivered and received, we are not liable for any damage that occurs to the product. Please inspect your items upon delivery and contact us immediately if there’s a problem.

10. Shipping and Delivery

10.1 We deliver anywhere in South Africa using trusted courier partners including The Courier Guy, RAM Hand-to-Hand Couriers, DSV, Aramex, SkyNet, Super Group, and EPX Couriers.

10.2 Delivery fees are based on your location and the size of your order. We’ll include this in your quote.

10.3 We’ll provide estimated delivery times, but we can’t be held responsible for delays caused by the courier.

10.4 International shipping is available on request – additional customs and import fees are your responsibility.

11. Cancellations and Refunds

11.1 Custom Projects

  • Cancel before we start production: Full refund of your deposit
  • Cancel after production has started: Unfortunately, no refund is possible

11.2 Standard Products

Unopened and unused items can be returned within 7 days. A restocking fee may apply.

11.3 Cooling-Off Period (Consumer Protection Act)

If you didn’t have a chance to inspect the goods before delivery (for example, if you ordered via WhatsApp or email without seeing the product first), you have the right to cancel your order within 5 business days of receiving it – no questions asked. To exercise this right, the goods must be unused and in their original condition. Please note: This cooling-off period does not apply to custom-made or personalised items, as these are made specifically for you.

12. Data Protection

12.1 We take your privacy seriously and comply with South African data protection regulations (POPIA).

12.2 We only use your information to provide our services and communicate with you about your orders.

12.3 Your personal information is stored securely and won’t be shared with third parties without your consent.
